Put on your wellies, we’re in for a wet week…
Splash about in puddles on the street–just not King or Calhoun, or any other busy street for that matter. Rain boots optional, but not required. Everything is more fun barefoot…and we are in the South.
Cuddle up with Good In Bed by Jennifer Weiner. An awesome book about learning to be comfortable with yourself no matter what. And funny to boot.
Take a study break and watch Mary Poppins. The rain scene always makes me wish I were seven again.
Barricade yourself at the Charleston County Public Library with lots of silly picture books on every topic that interests you.
Clean out your closet–something you would never want to do if it were gorgeous outside. Sort everything into 3 piles: Wear Frequently, Don’t Wear But Would Like To, and Time To Give To Charity. Work up outfits for the items in the Don’t Wear But Would Like To pile. And put together new ways to wear the items in the Wear Frequently pile. Then, hang everything up in your closet–bonus points if you color code your shirts like I do!
Since you’re in your closet already…take the organizing to your shoes. If you’re like me, you have a daunting pile of foot wear approaching critical mass in your closet. Sort your shoes in to style, color, and height and arrange in a neat line.
Put that pile of old magazines to good use. Cut out images and make a collage on your wall for outfit inspirations.
Wear a cocktail dress out with rainboots.
Traverse your way to Kudu, City Lights, Rutledge Coffee and Creme (or of course Starbucks), nestle yourself in the back with a cup of tea and catch up on your studying.
Go to the beach and hop in the waves mid shower.
Find your favorite paperback and read it cover to cover.
Rearrange your bedroom.
And if all else fails, bury yourself under the covers and take a well deserved nap.
What are you doing today?
